The diabetic infant's diet needn't be controlled tightly very much
Q: My child has 1 type diabetes, I'm afraid he eats more, if blood glucose can not be controlled, do not allow him to eat the snacks, it is hungry that he often calls. Am I right in doing so?

A: A lot of parents think, the diabetic infant should keep on a diet strictly too. Actually this is not so, diabetic children's diet treatment is the diet of rational plan, but not limit the absorption of the total amount of heat briefly. Children are in growing for puberty, the absorption of heat must guarantee the need of growth. So, the diabetic infant's requirement to protein is basically like normal child. Because the 1 type diabetic infant needs to hit insulin, children will not control one's own amount of exercise very much often, sometimes not have dinner on time either, so the diet needn't be controlled too strictly. The child is more suitable when taking 5- 6 meal each day, and need to adjust appetite appropriately according to meal time and activity size. That especially need to pay attention to is to prevent the occurrence of hypoglycemia, parents must teach children how to know the hypoglycemia, will go to school, hand-carry some candies or small snacks while being out, in case the hypoglycemia takes place.
